With his redshirt gone, Dylan Warlick came to the rescue off bench as Billikens defeated Bonnies
The freshman played 16 minutes and helped close the game in a pinch
Kalu Anya was preparing to check into Wednesday’s game when coach Josh Schertz changed his mind and had him take a seat.
Anya would normally be on the floor to help finish a win for Saint Louis University, but his fourth foul early in the second half had impacted the rotation. Kellen Thames was starting to cramp and would be unavailable for the end of the Billikens’ win over St. Bonaventure.
Just as Anya was to go in, freshman Dylan Warlick set a ball screen, received the ball and hit Kobe Johnson for a wide open 3-pointer.
“He was playing well,” Schertz said of Warlick. “Dylan made a great play. … I sent Kalu back to the bench.”
