Softball team had more challenges this season but has No. 2 seed for A-10 tourney on home field
Young Billikens get a bye into second round on Thursday
A SLU softball team laden with seniors caught fire last season, won 15 straight games and used offense to power its way to a second-place finish in the Atlantic 10 with an 18-7 record.
This year looked a lot different as a young team with one senior often struggled to score runs. Its average and power diminished, and the Billikens went 13-10 in the A-10.
But again, SLU is the No. 2 seed for the conference tournament. There are different paths to a similar result.
