Some college basketball programs have built success around a base of international players and a pipeline that has continually fed talent into the system.
St. Mary’s and coach Randy Bennett come to mind. When he left Saint Louis University as an assistant in the early 2000s to take over that program, he began recruiting Australia and does to this day.
Davidson in the Atlantic 10 has done a good job overseas and even had the conference player of the year in Jon Axel Gudmundsson from Iceland in 2019.
