Lorenzo Romar recalls a near breakthrough at SLU as he returns as assistant for LMU
The former Billikens head coach will be on sideline at Chaifetz Arena tonight.
The drive from Calabasas, Calif., to the campus at Loyola Marymount takes about 75 minutes for Lorenzo Romar to complete on most days.
The route to work was shorter when he was coaching at Pepperdine the previous six years, but there was no need to move when he made the change to an assistant coaching position at LMU.
Southern California is the area where Romar has held most of his jobs, even if he hasn’t spent most of his coaching career there.
