The Billikens open 27-point lead on way to 78-64 win

Forget about SLU’s offense for a minute and let’s talk about the defense that showed up for Saturday night’s 78-64 win over Grand Canyon.

The Lopes are a big team that can create matchup problems and showed up at Chaifetz Arena shooting 51% in their three games. The Billikens locked them down, holding the visitors to 28.4%.

Grand Canyon missed 14 straight shots during a stretch of the second half. SLU had eight steals, blocked four shots and was generally disruptive.
