While learning early lessons in college basketball, Jax Kerr was outsized by Robbie Avila by 40 pounds of girth and by Paul Otieno by what appeared to be a couple inches of biceps.

Kerr’s freshman season was an overload by many measurements, none of which deterred the 6-11 center from returning for his sophomore season.

He latched himself to Avila, and although the playing time was sparse the lessons were limited only if he ran out of questions.
